Gwynne attended Robinson Elementary, Grier Middle, and Forestview High School, where she was Miss Forestview 2001, Student Body President, and co-valedictorian of the Class of 2002, all while playing on the girls’ tennis and golf teams. Her love for dance began early under Mrs. Debbie Faulkner at the Durham School of Dance in Gastonia

Gwynne went on to attend UNC–Chapel Hill, earning a double major in Journalism and Political Science and joining Tri Delta sorority. During her summers, she met her future husband, John Wharton of Greenville, SC, at her favorite place on earth—Bonclarken in Flat Rock, NC, her church conference ground. Married for nearly 18 years, they’re proud parents to Liza Gwynne (14), Jack (12), Drew (10), Blair (8), and are currently fostering their almost two year old daughter, along with their Dalmatian fur-child Dottie.

After seven years in pharmaceutical sales, Gwynne followed her heart home to raise their children and build a business around real estate, renovations, and short-term rentals. Today, she and John own My Carolina Stay, renovating and managing vacation and corporate homes across the Carolinas and locally.

A lifelong member of First ARP Church of Gastonia, Gwynne also serves on staff at Camp Bonclarken, where she’s spent the past 12 summers on staff teaching Bible and leading kids on outdoor adventures like hiking, tubing, and sliding rock. Recently, she and John became licensed foster parents through Gaston County DSS, already welcoming several children into their home.

When she’s not working or shuttling her kids around town, Gwynne enjoys hiking, running (recently finishing her 2nd half marathon), Pilates, and lunch dates with her Belmont village and church friends. A true Gaston County girl, she loves Black’s BBQ, RO’s slaw, crowders mountain and escaping to summers in Flat Rock and beach walks at Litchfield.

Passionate about mentoring and advocating for vulnerable children, Gwynne dances in support of the Boys and Girls Club, believing that we can all do something to help care for these amazing kids - opening our homes, mentoring, supporting and advocating for the youth in our own county.

Talisha Zinobile’ s professional journey is rooted in people, service, and resilience. Before stepping into the banking industry in 2018, she spent more than 20+ years in the retail management  industry, where she developed leadership, teamwork, and a deep commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences. Those years shaped her passion for connection and taught her the value of showing up authentically, skills that continue to guide her today.

Her experience also includes five years in Property Management in Charlotte, NC, where she strengthened her communication, problem-solving, and operational management abilities. These roles laid the groundwork for her transition into banking long before she realized it.

Today, Talisha is APN Certified and a Certified Notary Public, bringing expertise, empathy, and drive to every interaction.

For Talisha, family is at the heart of everything. She has been happily married for 3 years to the love of her life and is the proud mom of three incredible children: Jamison (13) and twins Bexley and Beckhem (12). Her family keeps her grounded, inspired, and motivated they are the foundation of her story and her reason for pursuing excellence both personally and professionally.

Outside of work, Talisha loves dancing, attending sporting events (especially football), and curling up with a good book. Cooking is another joy of hers — particularly for her amazing family.

She believes in finding moments of joy, embracing personal growth, and living with gratitude.

A unique chapter of her life includes cheering professionally for the Carolina Panthers for seven years and having the honor to cheer in a Super Bowl. Traveling across the country and to Europe, taught her discipline, teamwork, confidence, and the importance of community representation — lessons that continue to influence her today.

Talisha’s story is one of growth, evolution, and purpose. Each chapter — retail, property management, cheerleading, motherhood, and banking — has shaped her into the woman she is today. She’s proud of her journey, excited for what’s ahead, and committed to making a positive impact in every space she enters.
